This is an art lesson on self portraits for children. The self portrait is a collage of cut, construction paper. It is geared to accommodate 1st graders, but can easily be adjusted to other grade levels. Multicultural paper colors are used.

Students will, successfully make a paper collage self portrait. They will gain knowledge about what a self portrait is and how to manipulate construction paper to form a human face.

2. Demonstrate large enough for all students in class to see details.

7. Glue should not show. Artwork should look like it was glued by magic. Apply glue in small dots or drips.
